Geography
Plain City is located at 41°14'17" North, 112°1'17" West (41.238, -112.021). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.2 square miles (10.8 km2), all of it land.
History
Plain City was first settled in 1851 by a group of Mormon pioneers led by William H. Adams. The settlement was originally known as "Adamsville" after its founder, but was later changed to "Plain City" due to its location in a flat, open area.
The city was incorporated in 1868 and has since grown to become a thriving community. The city is home to several businesses, including a large dairy farm, a golf course, and a number of small businesses.

There were 2,541 households, out of which 41.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.2% were married couples living together, 8.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.3% were non-families. 16.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.86 and the average family size was 3.21.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 29.7% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 10.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.3 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $60,938, and the median income for a family was $65,938. Males had a median income of $45,000 versus $30,000 for females.
