North Ogden Summary

North Ogden is a city located in Weber County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Ogden-Clearfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 17,357 at the 2010 census, making it the fourth-largest city in Weber County.

History

North Ogden was first settled in 1859 by a group of Mormon pioneers led by William Walker. The city was incorporated in 1935.
The city was named after the nearby Ogden River, which was named after Peter Skene Ogden, a fur trapper who explored the area in the early 19th century.

North Ogden is home to several businesses, including a Walmart Supercenter, a Lowe's Home Improvement store, and a Smith's Food and Drug store. The city is also home to several restaurants, including a McDonald's, a Burger King, and a Subway.

As of the census of 2010, there were 17,357 people, 5,845 households, and 4,717 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,093.3 people per square mile (808.2/km2). There were 6,093 housing units at an average density of 735.2 per square mile (284.2/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 91.2% White, 0.7% African American, 0.5% Native American, 1.2% Asian, 0.2% Pacific Islander, 4.2% from other races, and 2.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 8.7% of the population.
There were 5,845 households, out of which 41.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.2% were married couples living together, 9.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.3% were non-families. 16.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.95 and the average family size was 3.33.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 30.2% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 9.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.2 males.
