Uncertain, Texas is a small town located in Harrison County, Texas, United States. It is situated on the western shore of Caddo Lake, near the Louisiana border. The population of the town was estimated to be around 200 people in 2020.
History
Uncertain was founded in 1884 by a group of settlers from Arkansas. The town was originally called “Uncertain” because the settlers were uncertain of the future of the town. The town was officially incorporated in 1887.
In the early 1900s, Uncertain was a thriving lumber town. The town was home to several sawmills and lumber companies, which provided employment for many of the town’s residents. The town also had a hotel, a general store, and a post office.
In the 1920s, the lumber industry began to decline and many of the sawmills and lumber companies closed. This caused the population of Uncertain to decline.
In the 1940s, Uncertain began to experience a resurgence in population. This was due to the discovery of oil in the area. The oil industry provided employment for many of the town’s residents.
In the 1950s, Uncertain experienced a population boom. This was due to the construction of a dam on Caddo Lake. The dam provided electricity to the town and also created a recreational area for the town’s residents.

Uncertain is located in Harrison County, Texas, United States. It is situated on the western shore of Caddo Lake, near the Louisiana border. The town is surrounded by the Caddo National Grassland and the Caddo Lake State Park.
