Southmayd Summary

Mayd, Texas is a small town located in Grayson County, Texas. It is situated about 10 miles south of Sherman and about 20 miles north of Denison. The town was founded in 1887 and was named after the Mayd family, who were early settlers in the area. The population of Southmayd was estimated to be 1,072 in the year 2000.

Southmayd is located in the eastern part of Grayson County, Texas. It is situated on the banks of the Red River, which forms the border between Texas and Oklahoma.
