Paloma Creek Summary

Paloma Creek is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Denton County, Texas, United States. The population was 4,845 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan statistical area.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.3 square miles (11.2 km2), all of it land.

History

Paloma Creek was first settled in the late 1800s by a group of German immigrants. The area was originally known as “Paloma”, which is Spanish for “dove”. The name was changed to Paloma Creek in the early 1900s when a creek was discovered in the area.
The area was largely rural until the late 1990s, when the population began to grow rapidly due to the influx of new residents. The population of Paloma Creek has grown from 1,000 in 2000 to 4,845 in 2010.
