Kenefick Summary

Kenefick is a small town located in Liberty County, Texas, United States. It is situated about 25 miles northeast of Houston and is part of the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area. The population of Kenefick was estimated to be 1,093 in 2019.

History

Kenefick was founded in 1891 by William Kenefick, a former Confederate soldier. The town was originally known as Kenefick Station, as it was a stop on the Trinity and Brazos Valley Railway. The town was officially incorporated in 1912.

Geography

Kenefick is located at 30°14'25"N 94°45'45"W (30.240278, -94.7625). It is situated in the southeastern part of Liberty County, about 25 miles northeast of Houston. The town has a total area of 1.2 square miles, all of which is land.

Economy
