Happy Summary

Happy, Texas is a small town located in the northern part of the state, in the Texas Panhandle. It is situated in the county of Swisher, and is part of the Amarillo Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1887 and has a population of 1,945 as of the 2010 census.

History

Happy, Texas was founded in 1887 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Canyon. The town was named after the nearby Happy Draw, which was named by a group of cowboys who were said to be “happy” when they found the draw. The town was officially incorporated in 1909.
In the early days, Happy was a farming and ranching community. The town was also home to a number of businesses, including a hotel, a bank, a general store, and a post office. The town was also home to a number of churches, including the First Baptist Church, which was founded in 1891.
In the early 20th century, Happy began to experience a period of growth. The town was home to a number of businesses, including a cotton gin, a creamery, and a lumber yard. The town also had a number of schools, including a high school, which was established in 1921.
