Foard County Summary

Foard County is located in the northern part of Texas, in the United States. It is bordered by Wilbarger County to the north, Hardeman County to the east, Knox County to the south, and King County to the west. The county seat is Crowell, and the largest city is Crowell. The county was created in 1891 from parts of Wilbarger and Hardeman counties and is named for Robert Levi Foard, a Confederate soldier and Texas state legislator.

Geography

Foard County covers an area of 919 square miles, of which 917 square miles is land and 2 square miles is water. The terrain is mostly flat, with some rolling hills in the western part of the county.
