Wildwood Summary

Wildwood, Kentucky is a small unincorporated community located in the western part of the state, in Warren County. It is situated on the banks of the Green River, and is home to a population of just over 200 people. The town was founded in the late 1800s, and has a rich history that is still evident today.

History

Wildwood was founded in 1883 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Bowling Green. The settlers were looking for a place to settle and start a new life, and they chose the area around the Green River. The town was originally called “Wildwood Station”, and was a stop on the Louisville and Nashville Railroad. The town was officially incorporated in 1887, and the name was changed to Wildwood.
The town grew quickly, and soon became a thriving community. It was home to a variety of businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith shop, a sawmill, and a gristmill. The town also had a post office, a school, and a church.
In the early 1900s, Wildwood was a popular destination for tourists. The town was known for its beautiful scenery, and many people came to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The town also had a thriving agricultural industry, and was home to several farms.
