Fox Chase Summary

Fox Chase is a small unincorporated community located in the southeastern corner of Kenton County, Kentucky. It is situated on the banks of the Ohio River, just south of the city of Covington. The community is bordered by the cities of Covington, Fort Wright, and Taylor Mill.

History

Fox Chase was first settled in the early 1800s by a group of German immigrants. The community was originally known as “Fox’s Chase”, named after the foxes that were often seen running through the area. The name was eventually shortened to “Fox Chase”.
In the late 1800s, the community began to grow and develop. A post office was established in 1883, and a school was built in 1885. The school was later replaced by a larger building in 1910.
In the early 1900s, Fox Chase was a thriving community with a population of over 500 people. The community had several stores, a blacksmith shop, a grist mill, and a sawmill.
