Corydon Summary

Corydon is a small town located in Henderson County, Kentucky. It is situated on the banks of the Green River, and is the county seat of Henderson County. The town was founded in 1817 and named after the Greek mythological figure, Corydon. The population of Corydon was 1,093 at the 2010 census.

In the early 19th century, Corydon was a thriving river port. It was a major stop on the steamboat route between Louisville and Nashville. The town was also a major center for the production of hemp, which was used to make rope and other products.
In the late 19th century, Corydon was a major center for the production of tobacco. The town was also home to several large tobacco warehouses.
