Marshall County Summary

Marshall County is located in western Kentucky, in the Jackson Purchase region of the state. It is bordered by Graves County to the north, Calloway County to the east, and McCracken County to the south. The county seat is Benton, and the largest city is Calvert City. The county was formed in 1842 from parts of Hickman and Calloway counties, and was named for Chief Justice John Marshall of the United States Supreme Court.
