History
St. Peters was founded in 1855 by German immigrants who named the city after the patron saint of their homeland. The city was incorporated in 1876 and has grown steadily since then. The city was originally a farming community, but has since become a major suburb of St. Louis.

St. Peters is located at 38°47'25" North, 90°35'17" West (38.790278, -90.588333). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 24.2 square miles (62.7 km2), of which 24.1 square miles (62.4 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km2) is water.
