The small town of Pollock, Missouri is located in the northern part of the state, in Putnam County. It was founded in 1871 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Unionville. The town was named after the first settler, William Pollock, who had come to the area from Pennsylvania.
The town was originally a farming community, with the main crops being corn, wheat, and oats. The town also had a sawmill, a gristmill, and a blacksmith shop. In the late 1800s, the town began to grow and prosper, and by the early 1900s, it had become a thriving community.
