Country Club Hills Summary

Club Hills, Missouri is a small city located in St. Louis County, Missouri. It is a suburb of St. Louis and is located approximately 20 miles northwest of the city. The city was incorporated in 1959 and has a population of approximately 8,000 people.

History

The area that is now Club Hills was originally inhabited by Native Americans, including the Osage and the Missouri tribes. The first European settlers arrived in the area in the early 1800s. The area was originally known as “The Hill” and was a popular hunting and fishing spot for the settlers.
In the late 1800s, the area began to be developed as a residential area. The first homes were built in the area in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The area was known as “Country Club Hills” due to its proximity to the nearby Country Club of St. Louis.
In 1959, the area was officially incorporated as the City of Country Club Hills. The city was named after the nearby Country Club of St. Louis and was intended to be a residential community.

Geography

Country Club Hills is located in St. Louis County, Missouri. It is located approximately 20 miles northwest of St. Louis. The city is situated on a hill and is surrounded by rolling hills and wooded areas. The city is located near the Missouri River and is close to several parks and recreational areas.
