Gaston Summary

Gaston, Oregon is a small unincorporated community located in Washington County, Oregon. It is situated in the Tualatin Valley, approximately 20 miles west of Portland. The population of Gaston was estimated to be 1,845 in 2019.

History

Gaston was founded in 1876 by William Gaston, a pioneer who had traveled to Oregon from Missouri. He purchased land in the area and built a sawmill, which became the center of the community. The town was named after him.
In the late 19th century, Gaston was a thriving agricultural community, with many farms and orchards. The town also had a post office, a school, a church, and a general store.
