Lyerly Summary

Lyerly is a small town located in the northwest corner of Georgia, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. It is situated in the Chattooga County, and is part of the Rome, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1887 and has a population of approximately 500 people.

History

Lyerly was founded in 1887 by a group of settlers from North Carolina. The town was named after the Lyerly family, who were among the first settlers. The town was originally a farming community, and the main crops grown were cotton, corn, and tobacco.
