Gay, Georgia is a small town located in Meriwether County, Georgia. It is situated about 50 miles south of Atlanta and is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1871 and was named after William Gay, a prominent local landowner. As of the 2010 census, the population of Gay was 545.
Geography
Gay is located at 33°25'25"N 84°25'45"W (33.423, -84.429). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2), all of it land.
