Chickamauga, Georgia is a small city located in Walker County, Georgia, United States. It is situated along the Chickamauga Creek, which is a tributary of the Tennessee River. History
The area that is now Chickamauga was originally inhabited by the Cherokee Indians. The name Chickamauga is derived from the Cherokee word for “river of death”, which was given to the creek due to the numerous battles that were fought in the area during the Civil War.
The first settlers in the area were the family of John Walker, who arrived in 1835. The town was officially founded in 1848 and was named after the nearby Chickamauga Creek. The town was incorporated in 1872.

Chickamauga is located at 34°56'25" North, 85°17'45" West (34.940278, -85.295833). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km2), all of it land.

The economy of Chickamauga is largely based on agriculture and manufacturing. The city is home to several manufacturing plants, including a plant that produces automotive parts. The city also has a number of small businesses, including restaurants, retail stores, and service providers.

As of the 2010 census, there were 2,245 people, 890 households, and 602 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,019.2 people per square mile (393.3/km2). There were 990 housing units at an average density of 447.7 per square mile (173.1/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 87.2% White, 8.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.7% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 1.7% from other races, and 1.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.7% of the population.
There were 890 households, out of which 28.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.2% were married couples living together, 15.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.7% were non-families. 29.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 3.02.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 24.2% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 16.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females, there were 91.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.2 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $31,250, and the median income for a family was $37,500. Males had a median income of $30,000 versus $21,250 for females. The per capita income for the city was $15,945.
