Lennox, South Dakota is a small town located in Lincoln County, about 20 miles southwest of Sioux Falls. The town was founded in 1883 and named after a local landowner, John Lennox. The population of Lennox was 1,845 at the 2010 census.

Lennox is located at 43°37'17" North, 96°45'45" West (43.621389, -96.7625). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all of it land.

Economy

Lennox is a small town with a population of 1,845 people. The town is home to several businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a bank, a restaurant, and a few other small businesses. The town also has a post office, a library, and a fire department.
The town is home to several manufacturing companies, including Lennox Industries, which produces heating and cooling systems, and Lennox International, which produces air filtration systems. The town is also home to several agricultural businesses, including a dairy farm, a feed mill, and a grain elevator.

Demographics

As of the 2010 census, there were 1,845 people, 745 households, and 486 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,541.7 people per square mile (595.2/km2). There were 809 housing units at an average density of 672.5 per square mile (259.7/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 97.2% White, 0.2% African American, 0.3% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.2% of the population.
