Beadle County Summary
Beadle County is located in the southeastern corner of South Dakota, and is bordered by the states of Minnesota and Iowa. History
Beadle County was established in 1873, and was named after former Governor William Henry Harrison Beadle. The county was originally part of the Dakota Territory, and was part of the original land grant given to the Sioux Nation in 1868. The county was organized in 1873, and the first county seat was located in Wessington Springs. In 1883, the county seat was moved to Huron.
