Phillipsburg, Kansas is a small town located in Phillips County, in the northwest corner of the state. It is situated on the banks of the Republican River, and is the county seat of Phillips County. Phillipsburg is located at 39°45'25" North, 99°25'45" West (39.756944, -99.429167). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all of it land.
Phillipsburg is located in the High Plains region of the Great Plains. The town is situated on the banks of the Republican River, and is surrounded by rolling hills and prairies. The climate is semi-arid, with hot summers and cold winters. The average annual precipitation is about 20 inches (51 cm).
Economy
Phillipsburg is a small, rural town, and the economy is largely based on agriculture. The main crops grown in the area are wheat, corn, and sorghum. The town also has a few small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a few restaurants.

As of the 2010 census, there were 1,845 people, 745 households, and 486 families residing in Phillipsburg. The population density was 1,541.7 people per square mile (595.2/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 95.2% White, 0.2% African American, 0.7% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 1.7% from other races, and 1.9% from two or more races.
