Gove City Summary
Gove City, Kansas is a small city located in the northwest corner of the state. It is the county seat of Gove County and has a population of approximately 1,400 people. The city is located on the banks of the Smoky Hill River and is surrounded by rolling hills and prairies.
Gove City was founded in 1885 and was named after the county, which was named after the Gove family, who were early settlers in the area.
