Felton Summary

Felton is a small town located in Kent County, Delaware, United States. It is situated on the banks of the Murderkill River, about 10 miles south of Dover, the state capital. The town has a population of 1,845 as of the 2010 census.

History

The area that is now Felton was first settled in the late 1600s by English and Dutch settlers. The town was originally known as "Murderkill Crossroads" due to its location at the intersection of two major roads. In 1845, the town was renamed Felton after a local landowner, William Felton.
