Iliff Summary

Iliff is a small town located in Logan County, Colorado, United States. It is situated along the South Platte River, approximately 20 miles east of Sterling. The town was founded in 1887 by the Union Pacific Railroad and named after the Reverend John Wesley Iliff, a prominent Methodist minister and early settler of the area. As of the 2010 census, the population of Iliff was 517.

History

The area around Iliff was first settled by Native Americans, including the Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Ute tribes. The first white settlers arrived in the area in the late 1860s, and the town of Iliff was founded in 1887 by the Union Pacific Railroad. The town was named after the Reverend John Wesley Iliff, a prominent Methodist minister and early settler of the area.
