Deer Trail Summary

Deer Trail, Colorado is a small town located in Arapahoe County, approximately 45 miles east of Denver. The town was founded in 1875 and is home to approximately 500 people. The town is known for its unique history, geography, economy, and demographics.

History

Deer Trail was founded in 1875 by a group of settlers from Kansas. The town was named after the abundance of deer in the area. The town was originally a farming community, but it soon became a popular stop for travelers on the Union Pacific Railroad. In the late 1800s, the town was home to a number of businesses, including a hotel, saloon, and general store.
In the early 1900s, Deer Trail became a popular destination for hunters and fishermen. The town was also home to a number of rodeos and other events. In the 1950s, the town began to decline as the railroad stopped running through the area. In the 1970s, the town was revitalized with the opening of a new highway.
