Lincoln Summary

Lincoln, North Dakota is a small city located in the southeastern corner of the state. It is the county seat of Burleigh County and is part of the Bismarck-Mandan Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city has a population of 1,845 as of the 2010 census.

History

Lincoln was founded in 1883 by the Northern Pacific Railroad. The city was named after Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. The city was incorporated in 1885 and was the first city in Burleigh County.

Geography

Lincoln is located at 46°51'N 100°45'W (46.851, -100.75). It is situated in the Missouri Plateau region of North Dakota. The city is located on the banks of the Missouri River and is surrounded by rolling hills and prairies. The city has a total area of 1.2 square miles, all of which is land.

Economy
