Hatton Summary

Hatton is a small city located in Traill County, North Dakota. It is situated on the Sheyenne River, approximately 30 miles northwest of Grand Forks. The city has a population of 1,541 as of the 2010 census, making it the largest city in Traill County.

Geography

Hatton is located at 47°25'N 97°25'W (47.4167, -97.4167). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all of it land.
The Sheyenne River flows through the city, and is a popular spot for fishing and other recreational activities. The city is also home to a number of parks, including the Hatton City Park, which features a playground, picnic area, and walking trails.

Economy

Hatton’s economy is largely based on agriculture. The city is home to several grain elevators, as well as a number of farms and ranches. The city is also home to a number of businesses, including a grocery store, hardware store, and several restaurants.
