Alberton Summary

Alberton, Montana is a small town located in the western part of the state, near the Idaho border. It is situated in the Flathead Valley, a region of the Rocky Mountains known for its scenic beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities. The town has a population of approximately 1,000 people and is the county seat of Mineral County.

History

Alberton was founded in 1891 by a group of homesteaders who were attracted to the area by its abundant natural resources. The town was named after Albert J. Earling, a prominent local businessman and politician. The first post office was established in 1892 and the town was incorporated in 1895.
