Valparaiso Summary

Valparaiso, Nebraska is a small town located in the southeastern corner of the state, near the border of Iowa. History

Valparaiso was founded in 1871 by a group of settlers from Germany. The town was named after the city of Valparaiso, Chile, which was the birthplace of one of the settlers. The settlers were attracted to the area due to its fertile soil and abundant water supply. The town quickly grew and by 1875, it had a population of over 500 people.
The town was an important center for agriculture in the area, with many of the settlers growing wheat, corn, and other crops. The town also had a number of businesses, including a flour mill, a sawmill, and a blacksmith shop.
