Snyder Summary

Snyder is a small village located in the southeastern corner of Nebraska, in the United States. It is situated in the county of Lancaster, and is part of the Lincoln metropolitan area. The village has a population of just over 500 people, and is located about 20 miles south of Lincoln.

History

Snyder was founded in 1871 by a group of settlers from Germany. The village was named after a local farmer, John Snyder, who had donated the land for the settlement. The first settlers were mostly farmers, and the village quickly grew to become a thriving agricultural community.
In the early 1900s, the village began to expand and develop. A post office was established in 1906, and a school was built in 1908. The village also had a general store, a blacksmith shop, and a few other businesses.
In the 1920s, the village began to experience a period of growth and prosperity. The population increased from about 200 people in 1920 to over 500 by 1930. During this time, the village also saw the construction of a new school, a bank, and a movie theater.
