Milford Summary

Milford, Nebraska is a small city located in Seward County, Nebraska. It is situated in the southeastern part of the state, about 40 miles southwest of Lincoln. The city has a population of approximately 3,000 people and is the county seat of Seward County.

History

Milford was founded in 1871 by a group of settlers from Ohio. The city was named after Milford, Ohio, the hometown of the settlers. The city was incorporated in 1873 and was the first city in Seward County.
The city was originally a farming community, but in the late 19th century, it became a center for the lumber industry. The city was also home to a number of other businesses, including a flour mill, a brickyard, and a creamery.
