Gresham Summary

Gresham is a small village located in Saunders County, Nebraska, United States. It is situated on the banks of the Platte River, approximately 25 miles west of Omaha. The population of Gresham was estimated to be 545 in 2020.

History

Gresham was founded in 1871 by a group of settlers from Germany. The village was named after the German town of Gresham, which was the birthplace of one of the settlers. The settlers built a flour mill, a sawmill, and a blacksmith shop. The village was incorporated in 1887.
Gresham was a thriving agricultural community in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The village was home to several businesses, including a general store, a hotel, a bank, and a post office. The village also had a school, a church, and a cemetery.
