Bloomfield Summary

Bloomfield, Nebraska is a small town located in the southeastern corner of the state. It is situated in the rolling hills of the Loess Hills region, and is surrounded by farmland and small towns. The town was founded in 1871 and has a population of approximately 1,000 people.

History

Bloomfield was founded in 1871 by a group of settlers from Iowa. The town was named after the nearby Bloomfield Creek, which was named after the wildflowers that grew along its banks. The town was originally a farming community, and the first settlers grew wheat, corn, and oats. In the late 1800s, the town began to grow and prosper, and by the early 1900s, it had become a thriving community.
The town was home to a variety of businesses, including a bank, a hotel, a general store, a blacksmith shop, and a livery stable. The town also had a school, a post office, and a newspaper. In the early 1900s, the town was home to a variety of churches, including Methodist, Baptist, and Presbyterian.
