History
Beemer was founded in 1887 by German immigrants. The village was named after a local landowner, John Beemer. The first post office was established in 1887.

Economy
Beemer is a small rural community with a population of 545 people. The village is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a restaurant, and a bank.
The village is also home to a number of manufacturing companies, including a plastics manufacturer, a metal fabricator, and a machine shop.
Demographics
As of the census of 2010, there were 545 people, 212 households, and 149 families residing in the village. The population density was 890.0 inhabitants per square mile (344.3/km2). There were 229 housing units at an average density of 376.7 per square mile (145.3/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.3% White, 0.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.4% from other races, and 1.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.3% of the population.
There were 212 households, of which 33.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.2% were married couples living together, 9.9% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.2% had a male householder with no wife present, and 30.7% were non-families. 25.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 3.09.
The median age in the village was 38.3 years. 27.2% of residents were under the age of 18; 6.7% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 24.2% were from 25 to 44; 27.2% were from 45 to 64; and 14.7% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 49.7% male and 50.3% female.
Education
Beemer is served by the Beemer Public School District. The district has one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school. The district also operates a preschool and a daycare center.
