Beaver City Summary

Beaver City is a city located in Furnas County, Nebraska, United States. It is the county seat of Furnas County. The population was 1,068 at the 2010 census.

History

Beaver City was founded in 1887 by the Union Pacific Railroad. The city was named after the nearby Beaver Creek. The first post office was established in 1888. The city was incorporated in 1889.

Geography

Beaver City is located at 40°14'17" North, 100°2'17" West (40.238, -100.038). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km2), all of it land.
