Cable Summary
Cable, Wisconsin is a small town located in Bayfield County in the northwestern part of the state. It is situated on the south shore of Lake Namakagon, a large lake in the Chequamegon National Forest. The town was founded in 1885 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Cable, Minnesota. The town was named after the cable that was used to transport logs from the lake to the sawmill in Cable, Minnesota.

The town is located approximately 30 miles from the city of Ashland, Wisconsin, and is about a two-hour drive from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
