Pulaski Summary

Pulaski is a village located in Brown County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,945 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Green Bay Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Pulaski was founded in 1851 by Polish immigrants who named the village after the Polish national hero, Casimir Pulaski. The village was incorporated in 1872. The first settlers were mostly farmers, but the village soon became a center for the lumber industry. The first sawmill was built in 1854, and by the late 19th century, Pulaski was home to several sawmills, a grist mill, a tannery, and a brickyard.

Geography

Pulaski is located at 44°30′N 88°7′W (44.50, -88.12). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km2), all of it land.

Economy

Pulaski's economy is largely based on agriculture and manufacturing. The village is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a restaurant. The village also has a small industrial park, which is home to several manufacturing companies.
