Ogdensburg Summary

Ogdensburg is a village in Waupaca County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 545 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Wolf River, which is a tributary of the Fox River.

History

Ogdensburg was founded in 1854 by William Ogden, a settler from New York. The village was named after him. The first post office was established in 1856. The village was incorporated in 1876.

Geography

Ogdensburg is located at 44°25′N 88°51′W (44.4133, -88.8500). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km2), all of it land.

Economy

Ogdensburg is a small village with a population of 545 people. The village is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a restaurant, and a gas station. The village also has a post office and a library.

Demographics

As of the census of 2010, there were 545 people, 213 households, and 145 families residing in the village. The population density was 605.6 people per square mile (233.7/km2). There were 229 housing units at an average density of 253.3 per square mile (97.7/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.3% White, 0.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.4% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.1% of the population.
There were 213 households, out of which 33.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.6% were married couples living together, 10.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.2% were non-families. 28.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
