Richfield Summary

Richfield, Idaho is a small city located in the south-central part of the state. It is situated in the Snake River Plain, a region of the state that is known for its agricultural production. The city is located in the county of Minidoka, and is the county seat. Richfield has a population of approximately 1,500 people, and is the largest city in the county.

History

Richfield was founded in 1883 by a group of settlers from Utah. The city was named after the nearby Richfield Canal, which was built to irrigate the surrounding farmland. The canal was named after the nearby Richfield Springs, which were a popular destination for settlers in the area.
