Menan Summary

Menan is a small city located in Jefferson County, Idaho. It is situated in the Snake River Plain, approximately 20 miles east of Idaho Falls. The city is home to a population of 1,845 people, according to the 2010 census.

History

Menan was first settled in 1883 by a group of Mormon pioneers led by John Menan. The town was originally named Menan after the leader of the group, but was later changed to Menan Junction in 1891 when the Oregon Short Line Railroad was built through the area.
