History

Homedale was founded in 1883 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Silver City. The town was named after the homesteads of the settlers, which were located in the area. The first post office was established in 1884.
In the early 1900s, Homedale was a thriving agricultural community, with a population of over 1,000. The town was home to several businesses, including a bank, a hotel, a general store, and a blacksmith shop.
In the 1920s, the town began to decline as the agricultural industry shifted away from the area. By the 1950s, the population had dropped to just over 500.
