Firth is a city located in Bingham County, Idaho, United States. The population was 1,845 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Idaho Falls, Idaho Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Firth was founded in 1891 by the Union Pacific Railroad. The city was named after William Firth, a railroad official. The city was incorporated in 1901.

As of the census of 2010, there were 1,845 people, 690 households, and 486 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,539.2 people per square mile (593.3/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 95.2% White, 0.2% African American, 0.4% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 2.2% from other races, and 1.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.2% of the population.
There were 690 households, out of which 33.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.3% were married couples living together, 10.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.3% were non-families. 25.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.20.
