Whitfield CDP is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Santa Rosa County, Florida. It is located in the western part of the county, just south of the city of Milton. The CDP was first established in the 2000 census and has a population of 1,845 as of the 2010 census.

The area that is now Whitfield CDP was originally inhabited by Native American tribes, including the Muscogee, Choctaw, and Creek. The area was part of the Spanish colony of West Florida until 1821, when it became part of the United States. The area was sparsely populated until the late 19th century, when the lumber industry began to develop in the area. The town of Whitfield was established in 1887 and named after a local family.

The town of Whitfield was incorporated in 1901 and was a thriving lumber town until the Great Depression. The town was disincorporated in 1932 due to the economic downturn.
