Geography
Destin is located in the Florida Panhandle, along the Gulf of Mexico. It is situated on a peninsula separating the Gulf of Mexico from Choctawhatchee Bay. The city is bordered by the cities of Fort Walton Beach to the west and Niceville to the east. The city is approximately 25 miles east of Pensacola and about 85 miles west of Tallahassee.
