Fort McDermitt Summary

Introduction

Located in the northwestern corner of Nevada, Fort McDermitt is a small unincorporated community in Humboldt County. It is situated on the border of Nevada and Oregon, and is the only community in the state that is located on the Oregon border. The town is named after the nearby Fort McDermitt, which was established in 1867 to protect the area from Native American raids.
