Plain Dealing is a small town located in Bossier Parish, Louisiana. It is situated on the banks of the Red River, approximately 20 miles south of Shreveport. The town has a population of approximately 1,500 people and is known for its rural charm and friendly atmosphere.

History

Plain Dealing was founded in 1848 by a group of settlers from Georgia. The town was named after the Plain Dealing Plantation, which was owned by one of the settlers. The plantation was located on the banks of the Red River and was used to grow cotton and other crops. The town grew slowly over the years, and by the early 1900s, it had become a thriving agricultural community.
In the early 1900s, the town was home to several businesses, including a cotton gin, a sawmill, and a general store. The town also had a post office, a bank, and a school. In the 1920s, the town was connected to the outside world by the construction of a railroad line. This allowed the town to become more connected to the outside world and to expand its economy.

Geography
