Hornbeck Summary

Hornbeck is a small town located in Vernon Parish, Louisiana. It is situated on the banks of the Sabine River, approximately 20 miles south of Leesville. The town was founded in 1883 and named after the Hornbeck family, who were among the first settlers in the area. The population of Hornbeck was 1,093 at the 2010 census.

Hornbeck is located at 31°14'25" North, 93°14'25" West (31.240278, -93.240278). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all land.

Economy

Hornbeck's economy is largely based on agriculture and timber. The town is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a few restaurants. The town also has a post office and a bank.

Demographics

As of the census of 2010, there were 1,093 people, 431 households, and 287 families residing in the town. The population density was 908.3 people per square mile (351.2/km2).
