Valle Vista is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Yavapai County, Arizona. It is situated in the Verde Valley region of the state, approximately 90 miles north of Phoenix. The population of Valle Vista was 8,845 at the 2010 census.

Geography

Valle Vista is located at 34°45'17" North, 112°7'17" West (34.754722, -112.121389). It is situated in the Verde Valley region of Arizona, approximately 90 miles north of Phoenix. The CDP has a total area of 8.3 square miles, all of which is land.

History

Valle Vista was originally settled by the Yavapai people, who lived in the area for centuries before the arrival of European settlers. The first Europeans to settle in the area were miners, who arrived in the late 19th century. The area was later developed as a farming community, and the first post office was established in 1912.

The area was officially incorporated as a CDP in 2000

Economy

The economy of Valle Vista is largely based on agriculture and tourism. The area is home to several wineries, as well as a number of small businesses. The local economy is also supported by the nearby Prescott National Forest, which provides recreational opportunities for visitors.

Demographics

As of the 2010 census, there were 8,845 people, 3,541 households, and 2,541 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,064.3 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the CDP was 87.2% White, 0.7% African American, 1.2% Native American, 0.7% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 8.2% from other races, and 2.0% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 16.3% of the population.
There were 3,541 households, out of which 28.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.2% were married couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.2% were non-families. 22.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.50 and the average family size was 2.91.
In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 23.2% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 24.2% from 25 to 44, 28.2% from 45 to 64, and 17.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.2 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $37,917, and the median income for a family was $41,964. Males had a median income of $31,964 versus $25,000 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $18,945. About 8.2% of families and 11.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 16.2% of those under age 18 and 6.7% of those age 65 or over.
