Seven Mile Summary

Seven Mile is a small unincorporated community located in the state of Arizona, in the United States. It is situated in the northern part of the state, in Coconino County, and is located approximately seven miles south of the city of Flagstaff. The community is situated at an elevation of 6,890 feet, and is surrounded by the Coconino National Forest.

History

The area that is now Seven Mile was first settled in the late 1800s by a group of Mormon settlers. The settlers were led by a man named John W. Young, who was the son of Brigham Young, the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The settlers established a small farming community in the area, and the community was known as Young’s Ranch.
In the early 1900s, the area was renamed Seven Mile, after the distance between the community and Flagstaff. The name was chosen to reflect the fact that the community was located seven miles south of Flagstaff.

Geography

Seven Mile is located in the northern part of Arizona, in Coconino County. It is situated at an elevation of 6,890 feet, and is surrounded by the Coconino National Forest. The community is located approximately seven miles south of the city of Flagstaff.
The climate in Seven Mile is semi-arid, with hot summers and cold winters. The average high temperature in the summer is around 90 degrees Fahrenheit, while the average low temperature in the winter is around 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

Economy

The economy of Seven Mile is largely based on tourism and agriculture. The community is home to several tourist attractions, including the Seven Mile Museum, which is a museum dedicated to the history of the area. The museum features exhibits on the history of the Mormon settlers, as well as the history of the area’s Native American tribes.
The community is also home to several farms, which produce a variety of crops, including hay, alfalfa, and corn. The farms also raise cattle and sheep.

Demographics

As of the 2010 census, the population of Seven Mile was 1,072. The racial makeup of the community was 94.3% White, 0.7% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.1% from other races, and 4.6% from two or more races.
